Starting as research Engineer at Ghent University (Belgium), Tom entered the mobile space by studying the correlations between wireless network quality and the perceived experience of the mobile user. He continued developing transcoding technologies to assist with the creation of user friendly mobile websites and soon started exploring the opportunities provided by modern mobile browsers. As consultant in New York, he handcrafted several mobile websites and contributed heavily to the adoption of mobile within the Drupal community.
