The automotive industry is looking for ways to innovate the driving experience in the wake of the economic downturn, and what better way than to create the ‘connected automobile’. Automakers have decided to capitalise on the demand for the same dynamic multimedia experience in the car that people now expect in their everyday lives.
Analysts In-Stat predict that over 35 million in vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems will be shipped by 2015. This conference stream will address the need for these systems to find seamless ways to offer a connected multimedia experience, either through tablet or smartphone integration or via sophisticated, in-built IVI equipment.
These sessions will also examine the innovative ways in which early adopters are approaching the issues, partnering with apps technology firms or running their own developer programmes to answer the increasing consumer expectations for a hi-tech, connected driving experience.
Key issues covered in this track will include:
- Defining the nature of demand for IVI?
- Device integration versus native in-car systems
- Apps developers partnering with the automotive industry
- Examine the unique challenges in automotive app development
