Apple tightens in-app guidelines, will this change the monetisation strategy of apps?
Apple, who current takes 30% commission from all digital content bought through iOS apps have this week flagged up their new guidelines (released in February 2011) which requires publishers and retailers to remove all links to their own websites to prevent potential in-app sales taking place outside of the app, to protect Apple’s commission results.
