BlackBerry to run a Porting Masterclass – submit APK pre-event


There will be lots of activity coming from BlackBerry at Apps World, including 2 sessions from their Developer Relations VP, Alec Saunders in the free to attend Developer and DroidWorld keynotes.
In addition to the sessions they are running there will also be hosting a Porting Masterclass on their stand where you can find out all you need to know in order to port your existing iOS or Android app successfully to BlackBerry 10.

In addition to the Porting Master Class they will be running a Porting Clinic at the show. If you send your APK file ahead of the show they will run it through their app converter to test the port. You’ll then be invited to join one of their experts in the clinic to port your app live during the show! Plus they will promote the successful porting of your app through their social media channels. Apadmi to showcase apps for The X-Factor, Land Rover and Visit Britain at Apps World London

BlackBerry on app marketing at #AppsWorld NYC


Alex Kinsella from BlackBerry will be joining the agenda at Apps World next week. Alex is the team lead of product management for BlackBerry App World at Research in Motion. He works with the BlackBerry developer community to ensure RIM has the best in-class app store in the market.

Alex will be giving a technical presentation on the social marketing of apps and how that relates to App stores, providing a new look at the mobile app market including store sizes, consumer bases and revenue opportunities. The session will give insight into how to create a social graph for your app and your brand.

BlackBerry to launch Tablet & Rival the iPhone


WSJ yesterday revealed  RIM’s plans to launch a BlackBerry touch –screen smartphone to rival Apples iPhone & iPad.

The new smart phone is said to have a slide-out keyboard, and will let users swipe through screens and expand images with their fingers.

Rim are also testing a tablet device as a larger screen companion to the BlackBerry phone and could be available by the end of the year
