What is the future of location-based services? Find out with Telmap at #AppsWorld

Over the past 12 months all eyes seem to be set on mobile navigation, starting with Intel’s acquisition of Telmap followed by Apple’s announcement to ditch Google Maps and create a mapping app of its own.  Even Amazon looks like they are planning to join the location based services (LBS) market with their recent acquisition of mapping start-up, UpNext. And of course, indoor navigation is making a lot of noise in the industry lately and we are sure to see much more breakthroughs in that niche.  There is no doubt that the big players in mobile have started to realize the importance of LBS and the potential it holds.

Whether it’s checking in on Facebook, receiving local deals or searching and navigating to a location, nowadays we are all using location based services as part of our daily routines.  It seems now that a week doesn’t go by without a new announcement for the latest development in mobile navigation. Both Google and Apple have expressed their interest in 3D mapping. Google has even extended its capabilities to include some indoor mapping. LBS is growing at such a fast pace but where will it be in the future?

Telmap, whose vision is to provide people with instant, relevant, reliable and fun information while on-the-go, to better find, explore and interact with people and places around them is prepared to answer some of the questions surrounding the future of LBS by revealing their newest innovations at the AppsWorld event scheduled to take place in London, October 2-3 2012.  Telmap has been pioneering innovation in the LBS market for over 11 years and providing value added end-to-end mobile location based services around the world.

Telmap will be leading a geo-location panel titled: Geo-Location Where are you now? Integrating location-based features into apps (October 2, 16:00 Developer Zone track). At the panel Telmap will share their experiences around the advantages of integrating location into apps, Geo-location specific functionality and how this interacts with other elements of their app, different services and widgets that are available to help integrate location into apps, harnessing the power of mobile data through location based apps, how to turn location information into consumer engagement, how location can make apps more social and more. Telmap is giving a solo presentation after the panel where Telmap will share insights about creating a great user experience in location-based mobile apps (October 2, 16:30 Developer Zone track).
