The other exciting news for developers is that Samsung have also launched their Global Developer Challenge 2012. The challenge aims to motivate and reward the developers of innovative, creative, functional and original apps for the Samsung GALAXY Tab and GALAXY Note.

There is $4.08million worth of cash prizes to be won, as well as giving developers who are short-listed major marketing support for their app. The ‘Top 60 Samsung Apps’ will be chosen based on those that receive the highest downloads, whilst the ‘Best of the Best 20 Apps’ S Pen functionality will be chosen by a panel of judges. Entries can be submitted to the Samsung app store between May 7 and September 30^th 2012 and downloads during this period will be counted; with winners being announced on October 31^st 2012.
