New sales manager to drive Acer's smartphone businessAcer South Africa appointed Gwen Goodwin as the Sales Manager for South Africa for its Smartphone product range, Gwen also manages the country’s boarder lying South Africa, Gwen was appointed by Acer Africa to bring their Smartphone division in line with its strategy to grow this new business in South Africa.
Gwen joins Acer with 15 years of telecom and IT experience, she has extensive sales, management and technical skills, and has a deep passion for the mobile telecoms market.
Gwen has worked with many blue-chip clients during her career, including financial service firms, logistics companies, food beverage manufacturers and the large Telecom networks.
Gwen comes with extensive skills in the Telecoms space with expertise of Private Networks,LAN’s and WAN’s (VPN),Satellite Connectivity, Voice over IP, Hosting, Network Security, ADSL Platforms and has extensive knowledge in the Mobility industry.
Gwen says Acer entered the smartphone market in 2008 by acquiring E-Ten, a Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer that has a strong track record in the handheld computing space. E-Ten has been around for more than two decades. The company's goal is to grow into one of the world's top five smartphone manufacturers within the next four to five years, and Gwen hopes to put Acer Smartphones on the map for South Africa.
Gwen is excited to take Acer Smarthphones to the level it needs to be in South Africa.
