The International Marketing Council of South Africa (IMC) was established to create a positive and compelling consolidated brand image for South Africa. The primary objective of the IMC is to develop and implement a pro-active marketing and communication strategy for South Africa, and to promote South Africa internationally. Brand South Africa works to market South Africa to the world as a vibrant, diverse and can-do country. The IMC aims to increase familiarity and knowledge of South Africa as a viable and profitable business destination in targeted international trade, investment and tourism markets in line with the government’s strategies.
Domestically, our campaigns are aimed at building national pride and enthusiasm for South Africa among the country’s people. IMC has increased its digital audience to unprecedented levels in 2011. During the last year a total of 44.1-million Brand South Africa website pages were viewed. The four public sites together had a total of 5.7-million unique users.
